Don't miss your authorisation certificate renewal
Türkiye's C, K, L, M, N, P and R road transport authorisation certificates are valid for 5 years, and renewal can be applied for from 90 days before expiry (Road Transport Regulation, Articles 17 and 19(1)). Time left on a certificate renewed in that window is added to the new one; the right lapses 540 days after.
Under Türkiye's Road Transport Regulation (Karayolu Taşıma Yönetmeliği), natural and legal persons carrying out activities within its scope, such as transport, logistics, cargo, freight depot, courier operations and freight organisation, must obtain the authorisation certificate (yetki belgesi) matching their activity from the Ministry (Article 5). Certificates issued or renewed are valid for 5 years (Article 17).
A renewal application can be made from 90 days before the expiry date. For a certificate renewed within that 90-day window, the time remaining on the old certificate is added to the validity of the new one, so renewing on time does not cost you any validity (Articles 17 and 19(1)).

Who is responsible?
The certificate holder, who applies to the Ministry in writing. The certificate is renewed based on the date the renewal fee is paid, and the fee must be paid before the certificate's expiry date (Article 19(1)).
If the deadline passes
An expired certificate can still be renewed if the application is made within 540 calendar days, but this is only a right to renew, not a right to operate. An administrative fine under Article 26(1)(a) of Law No. 4925 applies to anyone operating during this period or without a valid certificate (Articles 19(7) and 40(18)). If no application is made within 540 days, the right to renew is lost (Article 19(3)).
Check before renewing
A certificate is not renewed until all warnings recorded on it are removed and the regulation's conditions are met. A certificate whose activity has been suspended or which has become cancelled cannot be renewed (Articles 19(4) and 19(6)).
