Don't miss the deadline for your industrial registry annual return

Businesses in Türkiye's industrial registry must send their annual return (işletme cetveli) to the Ministry electronically within four months of the calendar year end, or of a special accounting period's end (Industrial Registry Law, Article 5). The owner or business managers are responsible; late filers are fined.

Under Türkiye's Industrial Registry Law, industrial businesses report their activities for the year in an annual return (senelik işletme cetveli) filled in on the Ministry's template, and send it to the Ministry within four months of the end of the calendar year, using the procedure in Article 2 (Article 5). Article 2 requires returns to be sent to the Ministry electronically.

Seasonal businesses that have been given a special accounting period by the tax authorities send the return within four months of the end of that period, provided they report the date and number of their permission letter within the period in the first paragraph. Businesses that report force majeure accepted by the Ministry may be given extra time (Article 5).

If the deadline passes

Businesses that do not send the annual return to the Ministry on time are subject to an administrative fine (Article 9). The fine is imposed by the local governor (Article 11), and proceedings depend on a written request from the Ministry (Article 13). Providing false information is subject to a separate administrative fine (Article 11).

What else must be reported?

Changes to the information in the registration return, and permanent or temporary closure or restart of the business, must be reported to the Ministry within one month; stoppages of less than three months for reasons such as repair and cleaning, and seasonal activity, are excluded (Article 4). Newly opened industrial businesses send their returns electronically within two months of starting operations (Article 2).
